Park History
Faulkner Park opened to the public on April 18, 2001. The park is named after Mr. Robert Faulkner who donated land for the development of the community park. In 2019, Faulkner Skate Park was added to the facility. The park features several picnic areas, restrooms, pavilions, baseball/softball fields, batting cages, playground, tennis facility, fishing pond, sprayground, nature trails, and skate park.

Faulkner Nature Trails
Faulkner Park Nature Trails feature nine miles of trails. Click the following link to view a map of the Faulkner Park Trails(PDF, 394KB). On Dec. 5, 2021, the Thunderstruck jump line built by the Tyler Bicycle Club was officially opened for public use. The jump line is a series of five downhill jumps testing the skills of the rider.
Additionally at the end of December 2021, the Faulkner Park Orienteering Course was completed as an Eagle Scout Project by William Barker. For more information or to complete the course, visit us at Faulkner Park Orienteering Course.

Faulkner Spraygrounds
Open daily from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. during the summer months! Faulkner Sprayground is located on the south side of the park. In order to conserve water, the sprayground is on a timer. To activate, press the activation pad near the sprayground.
Faulkner Tennis Center
The Faulkner Tennis Center (FTC) is a municipal tennis center open to the general public. FTC offers eight lighted tennis courts, low-cost programs, snack area, pro shop, professional instruction, covered pavilion and picnic area, special programs, convenient parking, water fountain, restrooms and is beautifully landscaped.
The pro shop opened on April 1, 2004, and was a joint project between the City of Tyler and the Tyler Community Tennis Association. The pro shop offers racket stringing, regripping, tournagrip and professional advise. Mr. Bob Faulkner, a lifelong supporter of tennis in Tyler was instrumental in the development and success of the tennis facility and programs.
