Arbor Day

The Tyler Trees Committee and the City of Tyler Urban Forestry Division will host our annual Arbor Day celebration on Nov. 23, 2024!

This shift from January to November isn't just a random choice - it's all about syncing up with Texas Arbor Day, the optimal time for tree planting in Texas. Plus, the weather can be milder in November, making for a much more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Join us at Noble E. Young Park for our Annual Arbor Day celebration and volunteer to make a difference! Register to receive a free t-shirt, lunch, and a chance to win a door prize. 

Part of holding Tree City USA status is to have an annual Arbor Day observance and proclamation. The City has held Tree City USA status for 15 years.

Seedling Giveaway

Seedling Giveaway – Saturday, February 7, 2026

Join us for our annual Seedling Giveaway on Saturday, February 7, from 8 a.m. to noon at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances South Tyler (8389 S. Broadway Ave.). The Tyler Trees Committee will distribute 1,500 free tree seedlings on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. This is a great opportunity to add trees to your home or neighborhood and support a greener East Texas.

The event is proudly sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System, ArborGen, and the Texas A&M Forest Service. Each participant will receive information about their seedling species along with guidance on proper planting and care.
