Glass Recreation Center Become a Member Today!Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Glass Recreation Center. Whether you are looking to get fit, or just have fun, the Glass Recreation Center is the place to be. This multi-use facility includes a cardio room, weight room, indoor track, large gymnasium, walking trail, computer room, multipurpose rooms, fitness classes, athletic leagues, and more.

Rates Annual Fee

  • Residents - $40/year
  • Non-Residents - $50/year
  • Youth - $20/year

Glass Rec Instructor Inquiries

The Glass Recreation Center is looking for instructors. If you would like to teach kickboxing, yoga, or other fitness classes, fill out our Instructor Inquiry Form.

Classes

The Glass Recreation Center offers a variety of classes each season for its members. Non-members must purchase a day pass to participate in a class.

Below are descriptions for classes currently being offered.

Karate Program

Monthly Karate Classes! Participants will learn the art, sport, and self-defense of karate.

Date: Tuesdays

Time:

  • 6:30 -7:30 p.m. Ages 6 to 12
  • 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Ages 13+

Fee: $30 per month

Additional Fees: $50 uniform/$55 gear

Belly Dancing

Wednesdays from 6:45 pm-7:30 pm

  • $50 per month for members/$60 for non-members
  • $15 drop in rate

Open Pickleball

Thursdays, two courts for advance players and one court for beginners, rest of dates will be open for all levels on all courts.

  • Mondays from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to Noon
  • Thursdays from 9 a.m. to Noon
  • Saturdays from 9 a.m. to Noon

Jan. 24 - March 7, 2026 - 1:30 - 3 p.m.

$7 per day or free with a $35 annual membership

Outdoor Adventure Series

The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is excited to offer a series of free outdoor adventure activities for families with children ages 6 to 12. Activities include animal tracking, fishing, and birdwatching. Thanks to a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department can offer this program free of cost.

Arrow Apprentices: July 12, 2025 from 3:00-4:30 p.m.

  • Ages: 8-14
  • Pre-registration required.
  • Event at the Glass Recreation Center.

All participants must bring their own water. Participants must pre-register for events as each event is limited to 10 families.

Step Aerobics

Get your heart rate up with Step Aerobics!

Instructed by Debbie Broughton.

When: Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m.

Cost: $20 per month/$5 per class

Zumba

Mondays from 9 - 10 a.m.

$20 per month or $6 per class.

Leagues

The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department offers many adult and youth sport leagues at the Glass Recreation Center. For more information, call (903) 595-7271.

Woldert Pond is part of the Neighborhood Fishing Program and stocked with trout. We invite families to come out and fish! The Glass Recreation Center has ready-to-go fishing poles for check out at the front desk. Please have an ID ready. Bring your own bait and tackle.

All those wishing to fish over the age of 17 must have a valid fishing license as per Texas Parks & Wildlife Guidelines.
