Athletics

The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department provides year-round opportunities for youth and adults to participate in a variety of organized sports. Tyler athletics focuses on the health and wellness of our community by placing a priority on physical activity, healthy competition, and teamwork. Be active and have fun in our many parks and sports programs offered throughout the community.

All sports fields are available at a charge for public use by obtaining a permit through the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department. (Only select fields are available with lights.) All fields and reservation submissions are subject to availability and review by our Parks and Recreation Department administration.

  • Contract fees (as of March 2025): $1,000 per field, per season
  • Field lighting (as of January 2026): $15 per hour, per field
  • Permit fees (as of March 2025): $50 per season

Entry Fee:

  • $300 per team
  • Cash, check or credit cards will be accepted. Make check payable to: City of Tyler
  • Absolutely no refunds.

Procedure for Registration

  • Register now until October 2
  • All entries may be sent through the mail, over the phone or brought to the Glass Recreation Center
  • League begins Tuesday, Oct. 10 through Nov. 2
  • Playoffs on Thursday, Nov. 9

League Organization

  • Game night is every Tuesday and Thursdays (8 game season)
  • Time will be adjusted to fit league
  • Days are subject to change
  • All games will be played at Faulkner Park Softball fields.

Rules

  • There will be a 45-minute game or 6 inning game limits.
  • All players must be 18 years of age.
  • All players must be added to roster before league starts

Rosters

  • A team shall consist of minimum of 10 players but no more than 15 per team

Awards

  • 1st place receives trophy and shirts, 2nd place plaque and shirts

Conduct

  • Coaches are responsible for their team.
  • All players must check in before every game with staff on duty.
  • Zero tolerance for disrespect towards officials, coaches, players, and other spectators.
