Keep Tyler Beautiful's Observation Hive returns to Goodman-LeGrand

Keep Tyler Beautiful is pleased to announce the return of its beloved observation beehive to the Goodman-LeGrand Museum (624 N. Broadway Ave.) on Tuesday, May 12 at 8 a.m., following a series of thoughtful adjustments designed to improve the health, safety and sustainability of the hive. 

The temporary removal of the hive allowed for important modifications to be made, ensuring a more supportive environment for the bees while enhancing the viewing experience for visitors. These updates reflect an ongoing commitment to education, conservation and the vital role pollinators play in our ecosystem. 

As a Bee City USA affiliate, the City of Tyler is dedicated to promoting pollinator-friendly habitats and raising awareness about the importance of bees and other pollinators. The return of the observation hive aligns with this mission and provides a meaningful opportunity for the community to engage with and learn about these essential creatures. 

Guests are invited to once again observe the fascinating activity of the hive and learn about the importance of bees in our natural world. The observation hive has long been a favorite feature for visitors of all ages, offering a unique, up-close look at the inner workings of a thriving colony. 

The Goodman-LeGrand House and Museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is a $3 suggested donation. 

In addition to the hive’s return, Keep Tyler Beautiful invites the community to celebrate its upcoming Bee Day at the Goodman on June 13. This special event will feature family-friendly activities, educational opportunities and a closer look at the important role bees play in our environment.
